CFEED’s Impact on Osceola’s Rising College Attendance Rates

CFEED (Central Florida Education Ecosystem Database) proudly acknowledges the significant milestones achieved in Osceola County’s educational landscape, particularly the remarkable increase in the college-going rate among its students. This success story is not just about numbers but about the lives transformed through dedicated initiatives and informed decision-making driven by collaboration, data, research, and leadership.

The recent announcement that Osceola County ranks fourth in Florida for post-secondary enrollment is a testament to the collective effort and strategic planning of local educational bodies, including Osceola County Commissioners, Valencia College, and the School District of Osceola County. Their vision, coupled with the invaluable insights provided by CFEED’s research, has notably propelled these advancements.

Osceola Prosper and CFEED’s Impact

Launched in 2022, the Osceola Prosper program has quickly become a cornerstone of educational opportunity in the county, providing tuition-free college education to thousands of students. This initiative was informed from CFEED’s data and analytical contributions, which helped shape the program’s development and implementation. By offering data estate and predictive analytics capabilities in Microsoft’s Azure platform, CFEED enabled program architects to tailor their strategies effectively, ensuring grants were received and resources were allocated where they could make the most significant impact.

Our research into the post Valencia enrollment, academic trajectories of Osceola students has been crucial in this process as well. For instance, the analysis of first-term GPAs and the identification of students at high risk of attrition provided essential feedback for continuous student support and program refinement. Such insights ensure that interventions are not only strategic but also proactive, supporting students throughout their educational journey.

The Role of Collaborative Research in Educational Success

The achievements of Osceola Prosper highlight the power of collaboration and the importance of data-driven decision-making in education. CFEED’s role extends beyond data provision—it fosters a deeper understanding of student needs and educational outcomes. This collaborative model has proven essential in adapting to challenges and seizing opportunities to enhance student success.

As we celebrate these milestones, we are also reminded of the ongoing journey towards educational excellence. CFEED remains committed to this path, continuously seeking to refine our models and strategies to better serve the students and institutions within our ecosystem.

We invite all stakeholders and interested parties to learn more about how CFEED’s research is making a difference in Central Florida’s educational landscape. For further insights and details on our impact, please visit our website at CFEED’s website or follow our updates on LinkedIn.

Osceola Prosper: A Model for Future Success

Looking ahead, the success of Osceola Prosper serves as a model for other regions and a beacon of what can be achieved with the right data, tools, and partnerships. It stands as a powerful testament to the potential of community leaders and educator’s collaboration to foster substantial, lasting change for their constituents and stakeholders.

Together, with continued leadership and innovation, we can ensure that this success is just the beginning of a broader transformation in the educational achievements of students not only in Osceola County but across the entire region.

About Osceola Prosper

Osceola Prosper offers support to high school graduates from Osceola County, covering tuition and fees (after accounting for grants or scholarships) for their entire duration at Valencia College or Osceola Technical College (OTECH). Established in 2022 through extensive collaboration between Valencia College, Osceola County Commissioners, and The School District of Osceola County, this program used various data, including CFEED research, which highlighted years of declining enrollment at Valencia. The program’s goals were to increase matriculation at Valencia and provide a pathway for students to earn an associate degree without accruing student loan debt.
