About

Central Florida Education Ecosystem Database (CFEED) is a partnership, comprised of the Helios Education Foundation, the School District of Osceola County (SDOC), Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), Valencia College (Valencia), and the University of Central Florida (UCF), along with Midtown Consulting  Group, that is engaged in a collaborative program to develop insights and create impacts for students in Central Florida. 

Vision

To create a model of collaborative data sharing among Central Florida pre-kindergarten through university public educational institutions to identify factors that inform decisions and interventions to increase success, outcomes, and opportunities for all students.

Mission

To build the tools and processes necessary to provide a silo-free examination of student performance from pre-kindergarten through post-secondary, and begin identification of insights that can be used to provide interventions that will increase student success.

Diana Pienaar

CFEED Director, Valencia

Diana has always had a tendency to follow the road less traveled and focuses on areas where she is best able to make a difference. It is for that reason, she is enjoys her role as the Director of CFEED, a collaborative project focused on determining student success factors based upon data analytics derived from shared data from institutional partners – Valencia College, University of Central Florida, The School District of Osceola County and Orange County Public Schools. Prior to joining Valencia, Diana spent over 28 years in various roles within the Information Technology field. She worked within Research and Development roles in companies focused on Financial Services and Banking, E-Commerce, Logistics as well as Consulting Services at such companies as Gartner, Fiserv, Chep and Convergys prior to moving into Academia.  Additionally, Diana is a lifelong learner with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from UCF, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Juris Doctorate (JD) in Law and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Financial Services and International Taxation.

Ashton Terry

Senior Manager, The School District of Osceola County, Florida (SDOC)

Ashton Terry has served as an educator for 17 years in SDOC.  He has experience as a teacher, learning resource specialist, assistant principal, and principal.  In 2021, Ashton became the CFEED Senior Manager within SDOC’s Research, Evaluation & Accountability Department.  Aside from his CFEED responsibilities which have contributed to dozens of research projects and several conference presentations, Ashton regularly fulfills data support requests from school and district leaders.  Mr. Terry was also nominated by his superintendent and selected as a panelist for the Florida Department of Education’s 2023 B.E.S.T Standard Setting.

Ashton Terry received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.  In addition to his qualifications in the field of education, Ashton has earned a Six Sigma Black Belt, and is a certified personal finance coach.

Michael Holt

CFEED Technical Partner

Michael has over 20 years of experience in Information Management and Analytics with broad experience in all aspects of Information Delivery for Analysis, Decision Support, Enterprise Performance Management, and Financial Reporting activities. He has direct Industry experience in Finance, Hospitality, Education, Retail, Insurance, and Manufacturing.  His areas of expertise include system integration, data architecture, analytics, project management, system implementation, environment testing, ad-hoc reporting, data analysis, requirement & procedure documentation, and client relations.  Michael is a trusted and highly experienced Enterprise Systems Architect and services all roles required for project and product management lifecycles

Jamie Stalker

Data Engineer

Jamie has 8 years experience with data integrations, data analysis, Florida Education Reporting and Accountability systems, and educational data standards. She emphasizes utilizing standards, best practices, data governance, and automation to ensure data is moved, stored and used accurately. 

Since joining CFEED, Jamie reviews incoming data requests and identifies noteworthy trends and interprets  research findings. She then works to synthesize complex data into consumable data visualizations using PowerBI. 

Jamie is our subject-matter expert on Power BI since 2016, providing training and guidance on implementation. Implemented change management processes for Power BI data sources and reports.

Andrew Maceyko

Data Engineer

Andrew is a passionate, highly motivated consultant with an emphasis on data analytics, transformation, and project management. He has spent a majority of his early career working in project management roles within the Aviation and Construction industries. Many of the projects that he worked on required a detail-oriented approach with a wide range of responsibilities. Projects include the development and management of an equipment tracking tool for daily tracking and assisting with a conducting comprehensive lighting audit and transformation of conventional lightbulbs in the Atlanta airport.

With Midtown Consulting Group, Andrew has been able to utilize his skills to help exceed client and project expectations. He successfully managed an implementation of a management information system (MIS) for a medium sized manufacturing plant. He also managed the development and implementation of an online ordering portal to modernize sales channels and directly integrate with client MIS system to increase productivity and order processing. With both projects, Andrew has been able to lead the project teams with daily stand-ups, project tracking, risk management, and data wrangling/transformation.

Andrew is graduate from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and a Coles Scholars Leadership Program Minor. He is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and has several Microsoft Certifications. He likes to volunteer his time with the Boy Scouts of America in which he is an Eagle Scout.

Juliana Acosta

Marketing and Communications Specialist

Juliana Acosta is a Marketing & Communications Specialist with over 4 years of experience, primarily in the SaaS and technology sectors. Her expertise includes digital marketing, copywriting, and graphic design. Juliana holds a BA in Marketing from Florida International University and a Digital Marketing Expert Certificate from the Digital Marketing Institute. She excels at developing comprehensive content marketing strategies, executing email campaigns, managing website content, leading event marketing strategies, and maintaining a dynamic online presence across social media platforms.

Juliana’s skills extend to B2B marketing, project management, and a wide range of digital tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and various digital marketing platforms. Joining the CFEED team, she aims to leverage her extensive background to enhance brand awareness and craft narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

April Newcity

User Experience Designer

April Newcity has 7 years of UX experience in Human Resource digital transformations. She designed digital enhancements to streamline professional development, recruitment, vendor management, payroll, mobility and immigration processes globally. April joined the CFEED team to design engaging user experiences for our research findings by designing consumable visual content and data visualizations into web applications.

April graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology. During her time in undergrad, she dedicated 2 years volunteering with CARIBE, an Adult Education program providing ESOL classes to support refugees — helping to eliminate barriers to gainful employment. 

Chandler Deaver

Data Engineer

 Chandler has experience as a Process Engineer at an ITW ProBrands chemical manufacturing plant. During his time at ITW, he focused on improving production efficiency by optimizing inventory systems, training procedures, waste management, maintenance management, and other production tools and processes.

Chandler has experience in identifying and implementing plant efficiencies through data analysis and process improvement, creating compatibility charts designating the most cost-effective flushing agent to use between product changeovers., designing an inventory system for storing raw materials in order to reduce the 3-hour inventory counts occurring weekly. Converting SOP’s into operator work instructions to streamline plant training processes and production efficiency.​As well as designing, creating and implementing an automated PM program, including required safety system inspections.

Chandler graduated with a BS, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
